Espagnolette lock — why three locking points
The espagnolette bolt locks the door at three places at once: top, bottom and middle. A single-point lock holds the door only at the handle line, so a tall door can be prised away at the corner.
In a cabinet 1920 mm high, this difference decides whether the lock is real security or merely a sign that the cabinet is closed.
Two-section construction
The cabinet is divided into two independent sections, each with its own doors. This makes it possible to separate the contents — for example current documentation in the lower section and less frequently used materials in the upper — or to assign the sections to two people.
In practice, the two-section design also means shorter door leaves. A door less than a metre high swings open more securely and puts less strain on the hinges than a single door reaching 1920 mm.
Glazed cabinet — when glass helps
Glazed doors let you see the contents without opening the cabinet. This is an advantage for lever-arch files labelled on the spines and for display — trophies, catalogues, sample books.
It is also a drawback wherever the contents need to stay out of sight. For sensitive documentation, the following are more suitable: cabinets with solid doors.
Construction and finish
The body is made of bent and welded steel sheet, powder-coated with epoxy-polyester paints. The powder coating is heat-cured, so it withstands everyday rubbing from lever-arch files and cleaning with detergents without dulling, unlike wet-applied paint.
The base colour is RAL 7035, i.e. light grey — a neutral shade that does not stand out in an office and does not show dust as clearly as white. Four additional colours from the RAL palette are available at no extra cost, and the others are quoted individually.
The furniture comes to you straight from the manufacturer, with no intermediaries — hence lead times measured in weeks rather than days, and hence the ability to match the colour to existing furnishings.
