Anti-tip lock — why it matters
The cabinet allows only one drawer to be pulled out at a time. This is not an inconvenience but a safeguard: a drawer full of documents weighs several tens of kilograms, and two drawers extended at once shift the centre of gravity beyond the footprint of the base.
In tall cabinets used by many people, this mechanism decides whether the cabinet stays upright or tips over onto the user. When buying for an office open to customers or for an educational facility, it is the deciding argument.
Single-row or double-row version
Both versions have the same height and depth and the same number of drawers. They differ in width: the double-row variant is 620 mm and holds two rows of envelopes side by side, while the single-row version is 360 mm and holds one row.
The consequence is twofold. The wider version doubles capacity for the same floor area, and its drawers carry up to 80 kg instead of 45 kg. The narrow version fits where less than half a metre of wall remains — in an alcove, between desks or next to a shelving unit.

Frequently asked questions about the KOP/5 cabinet
What document format does the KOP/5 cabinet hold?
The maximum format is B-5. The drawer takes envelopes laid horizontally, in two rows side by side.
How much does a full drawer weigh, and will the runners cope?
The runners of this cabinet are rated for loads of up to 80 kg per drawer. Paper weighs around 80 kg per cubic metre, so the limit applies to a completely full drawer and, with a margin, covers typical office use.
Why can't I pull out two drawers at once?
This is a deliberate anti-tip lock. Two extended drawers shift the centre of gravity beyond the base of the cabinet and risk toppling it. The mechanism releases automatically once the previous drawer is pushed back in.
What is the difference between the version with the “-1” suffix and the one without?
The “-1” suffix denotes the single-row version, 360 mm wide. The version without this suffix is double-row, 620 mm wide, holds twice as many envelopes and supports 80 kg per drawer instead of 45 kg. Height and number of drawers are the same in both variants.
