Free-standing bench or set with a clothes hanger

A free-standing bench is just the seat — it is placed between rows of lockers or against a wall. A changing-room set adds a vertical slatted backrest and a clothes hanger, so it serves an open changing room without individual lockers.

The choice depends on whether clothing needs to be locked away. In a changing room with lockers, the bench alone is enough; in a sports facility or seasonal changing room, the set with a hanger replaces lockers. If belongings are to be locked with a key, you will need clothing lockers or compartment lockers.

Why wood for the seat

Wooden slats finished with clear lacquer do not get as cold as metal and do not warp under load. In a changing room, where people sit in underwear or a wet swimsuit, this is not a matter of aesthetics — a metal seat in an unheated room is simply unusable.

The gaps between the slats let water drain, so the seat does not collect puddles in a swimming-pool or shower changing room.

Free-standing bench or cabinet base

These are two different products. A free-standing bench stands on its own. A cabinet base is a structural element: it lifts the cabinet off the floor and has a seat built into the frame — in a fixed version or a pull-out one, tucked under the cabinet in narrow passages. You will find bases in cabinet accessories.

Frequently asked questions

What width of changing-room bench should I choose?

Allow about 60 cm per person: a 1200 mm bench seats two people, a 2000 mm bench three. In a changing room with lockers, the bench width is usually matched to the row of lockers.

How does a bench differ from a changing-room set?

The set also has a slatted backrest and a clothes hanger, so it serves a changing room without individual lockers.

Is the bench suitable for a swimming-pool changing room?

Yes — the gaps between the slats let water drain, and lacquered wood does not get as cold as metal.

How long does production take?

Typically 3–7 weeks.
