Under-desk pedestal — what to look out for
The pedestal slides under the desk top, so its height must fit under the desk frame. This model is 685 mm and fits under typical desks 720–750 mm high.
A drawer for A4 suspension files replaces a separate filing cabinet at the workstation, if current files fit in a single drawer. For a larger set of documents, the following make more sense: filing cabinets.
Three or four drawers
Both variants have identical height, width and depth — they differ in the division of the interior. The version with fewer drawers has them deeper, which allows suspension files and thicker sets of documents to be inserted.
The version with more drawers organises small items better, but each drawer is shallower. If you keep client files at your workstation, choose the variant with a taller file drawer; if mostly office supplies — the denser division.
The drawers run on runners with an anti-fall lock, and the whole unit rolls on four castors, so the pedestal can be moved without emptying it.
Construction and finish
The body is made of bent and welded steel sheet, powder-coated with epoxy-polyester paints. The powder coating is heat-cured, so it withstands everyday rubbing from lever-arch files and cleaning with detergents without dulling, unlike wet-applied paint.
The base colour is RAL 7035, i.e. light grey — a neutral shade that does not stand out in an office and does not show dust as clearly as white. Four additional colours from the RAL palette are available at no extra cost, and the others are quoted individually.
The furniture comes to you straight from the manufacturer, with no intermediaries — hence lead times measured in weeks rather than days, and hence the ability to match the colour to existing furnishings.
